Second Drawing; Voice

[It's around eleven or so at night when this message goes onto the network, about an hour later than Emily is used to staying up. It's her first night having left New Bark Town for the first time, and she isn't used to traveling or being alone outside. It's... honestly scary. But when she goes onto the network, she's trying her hardest to sound calm.]

Is anyone else awake? I can't sleep. I finally left New Bark Town. Traveling is fun! A lot more fun than I could ever have imagined. Everything is just so exciting and there is so much to see!

[But now it's night time, and everything is catching up to her and it's dark and scary and weh.]

I haven't ever slept outside before. There are so many noises... I keep thinking- [That her kidnappers are going to find her again] how exciting it will be to make it to the next town.

Does anyone want to talk for a while, maybe? Even if it is late?

[Well, when you're up in the middle of the night, what else is there to do? Heather knows what it's like to be stuck in the middle of nowhere by yourself, it can get spooky.]

Yeah, after you've been here awhile, you get used to the nature noises at night.

S'normal to be creeped out at first, though.

[Judging by the (admittedly dark) background on the screen though, Heather's in a cushy hotel room, not a campground.]

[YOU'LL GET THERE, EMILY. Hotels do get expensive after awhile, though...]

Yeeeeaaaah.

Just for the record, if you hear a noise like a dying old woman screaming, don't freak.

It's just a Hoothoot.

[OWLS, MAN.]
foolishwren: Or do you just rip a hole in your chest and let the locusts fly randomly into the keyboard? (do you like... THINK before you type?)

Dangerous? Hell nah, they're like... nocturnal beach balls covered in feathers.

They just sound like the devil.

[OWLS, MAN.]

... You don't know what... oh. Right. [Sometimes people weren't modern. :T] Uh... never mind. It's not important.

Anyway.

Yeah. They're not bad.

Even if they're like... terminally grumpy, the most they can do is scratch you up. And I've only ever met one like that and that one is just crazy, so.

We-ell...

They're not powerhouses, no.

I don't battle with mine a whole lot...

[Claudy used to be one of Heather's more battle-active Pokemon, but ever since she got more fighting-practical Pokemon like her Croconaw or Rapidash, the Noctowl had more or less shifted off of active duty.]
foolishwren: and I'm a dancing frog in a top hat that keeps getting dragged off stage by a big hook. (gender is a performance)

Hey, no problem.

I figure I've been around the block a few times, might as well share the intellectual wealth, right?
foolishwren: are waiting to GOOF OFF with you (SILLY GIRLS in YOUR AREA)

[Wow, kid, you are... earnest, aren't you. :I]

[Still, Heather smiles. Because really, d'awh.]

Well, keep at it and maybe one day you'll be as experienced as me.

Eat your veggies.
